Improper Conduct: FIFA Fines Nigeria N11 Million

FIFA has handed Nigeria a 30,000 Swiss Francs (N11,049,557) over its fans’ breach of security during a World Cup qualifying match.

The game took place on September 1 at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom where Nigeria defeated Cameroon 4-0.

Nigeria violated articles 65 and 67 of the FBC FIFA stadium and security regulations according to the information released on the FIFA website.

Nigeria was charged for “improper conduct amongst spectators (pitch invasions by supporters and invasions of restricted areas by supporters other than the pitch)”.
